Before you come in.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any day we're open — Monday to Saturday, 11am to 9.30pm, at #3 Sardar Patel Road, Adyar. Booking ahead is worth it for a first tailoring order or a wedding, because it means a fitter to yourself.
How long does something take to make?
You get a firm date at the first visit. Most orders run over two or three fittings across a few weeks. Wedding and festive orders should be started months ahead — six for a groom. Alterations on something bought here are usually ready the same week.
Do you make clothes for women?
Yes. Suits, structured blazers and trousers, plus evening wear — gowns and cocktail dresses in fine silks and lace. We also carry ladies wear on our ready-made rails, altered here to fit.
Can you dress a whole wedding party?
Yes, and we do it constantly. Sherwanis, bandhgalas, bandis, kurtas and Nehru jackets, coordinated so the groom, his brothers and the groomsmen match. Latecomers can be sorted from the rails and altered in a few days.
What cloth do you stock?
A deep library, close to ninety per cent of it imported — Zegna, Holland & Sherry, Scabal, Vitale Barberis Canonico and others — including the open, high-twist weaves that actually work in Chennai heat.
What's the difference between bespoke and made-to-measure?
Bespoke means a pattern drawn from scratch for your body. Made-to-measure adjusts a house pattern to your measurements. We do both, plus made-to-order, and we tell you which one you're buying before you pay for it.
Do you keep my pattern?
Yes, on file for as long as you keep coming. The second order is far easier than the first, and the tenth barely needs a fitting.
Do you also sell ready-made?
Yes — Van Heusen, Arrow, Louis Philippe, Raymond, Allen Solly, Park Avenue, Blackberrys, Levi's, Jockey and more, alongside ladies wear and kids wear. Anything you buy is altered by the same tailors who cut our bespoke, usually within the week.
Where are you, and do you serve all of Chennai?
We're in Adyar, on Sardar Patel Road, and people come to us from Besant Nagar, Mylapore, Alwarpet, T Nagar and well beyond — plus a steady stream of visitors and NRIs who plan a fitting into the trip.
