Children’s clothing is bought under time pressure, usually before a function, and usually in the wrong size because the right one is not on the floor. We stock kids properly and keep the size range deep, because families who can reliably find what they need come back for years.
What we stock
Boys’ formal shirts and trousers, waistcoats and blazers for functions; girls’ dresses and party wear; casual t-shirts, jeans and everyday clothes; and children’s innerwear and nightwear. Pepe Jeans covers much of the casual and denim range.
Buy for growth, and let us take it in
The sensible way to buy for a growing child is to size up and have the garment adjusted down — sleeves and hems shortened now, let out later as they grow. We do this hemming free on children’s clothing bought here, and we will let it out again when the time comes.
For functions and weddings, come in earlier than feels necessary. The week before a big family event is when the good sizes disappear across every store in the city, and it is a bad week to be discovering that.
Function and wedding wear
For weddings and festivals we also make children’s ethnic wear to measure — small sherwanis, kurta sets and bandhgalas cut from the same cloth as the adults’ outfits, so a family can be coordinated properly rather than approximately. Commission these together with the adult garments and we will match the fabric across all of them.
