GRADO is the premium end of the Indian fabric market and one of the more interesting books to open. It covers worsteds, poly-viscose, PV blends and cottons, and it is aimed squarely at the customer who wants the best cloth made in India rather than the entry level of the imported shelf. That is a real choice and it comes up in our cloth room most weeks.
What is in the GRADO book
GRADO runs across worsted, poly-viscose, PV blends and cottons, positioned at the luxury end of the Indian fabric market. The worsteds are the part we open first.
What sits behind the label is serious worsted manufacturing, and that shows up where it matters: consistency from one bolt to the next, clean finishing, and colour that holds. Those are the things that separate a good Indian worsted from an ordinary one.
When we open GRADO
GRADO is where we go when a customer wants the top of the Indian shelf rather than the bottom of the imported one. That is a real decision and it comes up often. For the money, a well-made worsted from here and a properly cut suit will serve most men better than an entry-level European cloth cut the same way.
The worsteds are the part of the book we open first, particularly in the lighter weights. Ask us to put one next to a mid-range Italian worsted and judge it in your hand rather than by the label.
GRADO cloth is available to order through us.
